TALENT REFINED
It’s been a massive year at Drip Dry! 2025 has been all about levelling up the local scene and sticking together when things got tough. The big news is that Ground Up Music (our collab with Beat This) is now fully funded until 2027! We’ve already seen 35+ artists through the doors for one-on-one recording and production sessions, helping bands and solo acts get their tracks onto Spotify and Apple Music. Plus,
we’ve upgraded our studio facilities and led seminars for would-be Writers, Producers, and Mixers.
It wasn't all easy, though. After the break-in at the Chime Creation Centre in August, we lost a lot of gear and even more hard work. But the way the Cambridgeshire music community rallied around our "Rebuilding Lost Dreams" campaign was unreal. Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to help affected artists get back into the studio to re-record what was lost. We’re not just back on our feet; we’re making sure nobody's creative progress gets left behind.
In between the madness, we’ve been busy with some killer projects; everything from Opaque’s ambitious new album “Beginning To End” and board game concept to the Winter Trails project with Charley Genever for the Nene Park Trust. Whether we're tracking drums for the Henry Birkett Band, recording live sessions with The Hangland, Yoke, The Dusty Seagulls or The Portland, or mixing albums for the likes of The Baby Seals, or even working on mental health projects with Beat This and CPSL Mind, the goal remains the same: helping you find your sound and get it heard. We’ve got a podcast in the works and a full studio diary for 2026, so if you’re ready to record, let’s get to work!
Big news for all emerging artists and bands in the city! The Ground Up Music project, a joint venture between community music specialists, Beat This, and Drip Dry, is buzzing. We're actively supporting grassroots talent by giving you free access to professional recording and production facilities.
We're booking sessions now and are ready to help you move your projects forward—whether you need to lay down a demo, mix a single, or just spend time refining your sound with expert guidance.
Since launching, Ground Up Music has got off to a wicked start with over 25 musicians signed up. We’ve already gotten over 30 participants through the doors for one-on-one production sessions, which is driving some serious creative development.
Global Releases: We’ve successfully supported 3 artists and 4 bands in releasing their music globally.
Training & Development: Our former seminars have been upgraded and will now run as our 'Writers, Producers and Mixers Camps,' offering the same valuable insights and networking, just under a slicker name.
Partnerships: We've expanded our community impact by linking up with awesome organisations like Jump Up Theatre and CPSL Mind to use music-making to help raise mental health awareness.
Future Plans: The participant-led Ground Up Music podcast is actively being planned for launch this year, with our musicians driving the content and direction.
The best part? Our funding is locked in until Spring 2027. That's a huge commitment, meaning we have plenty of time and resource to invest in your music journey, helping you build skills and launch a sustainable career.
If you filled out an initial interest form but haven't locked in your time yet, or if you're new to the project, now is the perfect time to get in touch.
Hit Up Benny to Book Your Session and tell us what you want to achieve. We can't wait to hear what you bring to the studio!
On 24th August our world was turned upside down. Chime Creation Centre in Peterborough, home to Beat This (www.beatthis.org) and Drip Dry Productions (www.drip-dry.co.uk) was broken into. The intruders stole a bunch of studio equipment, including the main studio computer and, most devastatingly, our backup drive.
This wasn't just a theft of equipment; it was a theft of years of hard work, passion, and creativity. All the music, recordings, and projects from the talented artists who work with us have been potentially lost forever. For many of these artists, this represents countless hours and a significant financial investment. Their art, their dreams, and their livelihoods have been severely impacted.
The artists who have lost their work now face the daunting task of starting over. The funds we raise will go directly to helping them in this rebuilding process. Your donation will help cover the costs of:
* Studio time and new recording sessions for artists to re-record their lost work.
* Equipment and software needed to replace what was lost or damaged.
* Direct support for musicians who have been financially impacted by this tragedy.

Chime is also the home of the Ground Up Music project, a development platform funded by the Arts Council, jointly managed by Beat This and Drip Dry Productions. This initiative is a vital part of the local music community, providing essential support and opportunities for emerging artists. The theft has dealt a significant blow to the project, jeopardising the progress of many musicians who rely on it to develop their careers.
We are determined not to let this act of vandalism silence our community! With your support, we can turn this tragedy into a testament to the strength and resilience of Peterborough's music scene.
Please, if you can, donate today and share our story. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity.
